President
Meet Edmundo Rodríguez
Edmundo Rodríguez is the President of Néstor Reyes, Inc., U.S. Customs Brokers, Foreign Freight Forwarders and Free Trade Zone Consultants based in Puerto Rico. He is also President of IMEX Zone Logistics, Inc., a public warehouse operating in FTZ # 61.
A licensed Customs Broker since 1982, Edmundo, has an extensive knowledge in the International Trade Market, sector in which he has been working for the last 35 years.

A Man of Humble
Beginings
Rodríguez started his career as a messenger in Néstor Reyes, Inc., and with courses in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, he was promoted to the Accounting Department, where Rodríguez assumed responsibilities as Controller, General Manager/Vice President. He continued his studies by attending diverse seminars and professional workshops in the most prestigious Associations and International Trade Companies both nationally and internationally.
Policy
Making
Rodríguez has acted as an Expert Advisor, for the last 30 years, offering consulting services “Pro Bono” to the governmental sector in subjects related to: Transportation, International Documentation, International Commercial Treaties, Free Trade Zones, and External Trade. His expertise has been key and has contributed significantly in Policy Making and New Legislation introducing benefits for the users of Foreign Trade Zones in Puerto Rico (Law #131 in 1999 and law #159 in 2004). He became a member of the Foreign Trade Board and the Commission of Free Trade Commerce (NAFTA/GATT) in 1995. He was a member of the first External Trade Advisory Committee for the House of Representatives. He is also, currently Member of Governors Fortuño’s Foreign Trade Board.
Commitment
with Education
Dedicated and committed to Education, Edmundo Rodriguez has served as a professor at the University of the Sacred Heart in Santurce, and was a collaborator for the Board of International Program of Commerce at the University of Puerto Rico. Rodríguez also appears as guest speaker in seminars hosted by Customs and Trade Institute and the International Center of Commerce of Puerto Rico SBDC of Inter American University. He has also been presented in diverse professional organizations for local businesses and abroad.
Leadership
and Advocacy
Rodríguez has been President of many committees at the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico. He is a member of the Transportation and the Exports Committees of the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association.
Rodríguez has been honored by the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico with the Zenit Award for Businessperson of The Year in 2002 for his outstanding achievements in the social and economic development for Puerto Rico.
During the year, 2003-2004 Rodriguez was the Treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico and actually he continues to participate in this association as President of the Logistics and Transportation Committee.
