With more than 40 years of experience, and over 2,000 satisfied customers, NRI is committed to making your importing experience as pleasant as possible, offering you top quality US Customs Brokerage Services island-wide and nationwide.
As established by the U.S. Customs Duty Drawback Program, importers may be able to receive reimbursement of 99 percent of all duties paid over goods entered into the U.S., that are re-exported to a foreign country.
The challenges of today’s economy have redirected trade tendencies. Most of the transactions conducted by a U.S. Customs Broker were strongly based on Imports. Now, the ever changing global trade industry has refocus trade currents into the foreign countries resulting in an increase of Export shipments.
Foreign Trade Zones allow importers to use Puerto Rico as a transshipment point for other Latin American and Caribbean countries, without paying U.S. Customs duties and local excise taxes. Products remaining in the Foreign Trade Zone are technically outside U.S. territory. Importers can conduct light-manufacturing, exhibiting, repackaging, reshipping and distribution without paying duties or taxes if the merchandise is re-exported. If withdrawn for consumption/sale, either in part or whole, duties/taxes will be paid only at that time, thus allowing for extended customer cash flow.
With more than 380,000 cubic feet of warehousing space, we provide the advantages of temporary storage, shipment stripping, and palletizing of merchandise. This way, we can assure shipment integrity and avoid the unnecessary demurrage and storage charges.
The Customs and Trade Institute, commonly referred to as CTI, is the academic division of NRI.
